Following their hard work and busy exam period, our Year 6 children were rewarded with a residential trip to Burgundy in France!

The children’s first highlight was taking the Eurostar to Paris and seeing the sites of this picturesque city. The children have had a busy timetable perfecting their language skills and enjoying the cultural diversity of French life.

To start off their time abroad, the children joined the circus and took part in activities such as: trapeze, climbing silk, globe balancing and tightrope walking. They also learnt how to play petanque. Of course, they took part in activities to practise their French by taking some French lessons, a drama class and baked only using a French recipe – all whilst in the beautiful and picturesque French countryside.

They have also learnt how to prepare a 3-course dinner using the local ingredients from the market they visited in the charming Village de Noyers.

We hope they all had a great time and no doubt they will feel sad to say “au-revoir” after such an exciting and memorable week. À bientôt, la France!!
