This week, our wonderful students have been exploring the importance of understanding and expressing their emotions as part of Children’s Mental Health Week.

With this year’s theme, “Know Yourself. Grow Yourself.”, each year group has been reflecting on their feelings, building self-awareness, and discovering ways to support their mental well-being. From creative activities to thoughtful discussions, our children have embraced the power of knowing themselves and growing stronger every day!

  • In Swans, they used concrete materials, such as a textured emotion bag, to help the children identify and express different emotions.
  • Robins focused on Children’s Mental Health Week, by exploring the importance of understanding and expressing our feelings. They listened to Jonathan James andThe What If Monster by Michelle Nelson-Schmidt, which sparked discussions about worries and how to manage them.
  • Year 4 took part in a Place2Be workshop for Children’s Mental Health Week, focusing on wellbeing and the importance of looking after our minds.

Let’s continue to encourage open conversations about mental health and remind our young people that their feelings matter!
