Registration has two steps: completing the online registration form and paying the registration fee of £100 per child.

By registering you are formalising your interest in Heathside and you are securing your child’s position on the waiting list for your chosen start date. We will acknowledge your registration.

Attend a taster session

Closer to your chosen entry point, we will invite your child to school for a taster session. For Nursery and Reception, this is usually an hour or two spent in class. For older children, it is typically a full day.

We are a proudly non-selective school so there is no formal assessment. The taster session is an informal opportunity for your child to get to know us and vice versa. For September entry, taster sessions usually take place in the Spring of the year of entry.

Receive offer confirmation

Once your child has attended their taster session, you await an offer of a place for your child. We offer places in registration order, with priority given to siblings of children already at the school.

For September entry, offers are usually sent in the Spring of the year of entry, after the taster days have been completed. For children who are registered closer to their start date, the registrar will let you know when you can expect to receive an offer (subject to a place being available).

Accept offer

When you receive your offer you will be given instructions on how to accept it. In brief, this will involve:

  • Returning the acceptance form, agreeing to the terms of the contract with our school.
  • Making a deposit payment of the amount indicated in the offer letter.

Prepare to join us

Towards the end of the summer term before your child starts with us, we invite you to come to our Moving Up day.  It gives the new children joining us in September a chance to meet their teachers, peers and spend time in their new classroom.  Whilst this is happening parents are invited to a talk with Nadia, the Headteacher, and find out about life at Heathside.
