ISI Inspection Report – February 2025

Words from our Head, Sara:

“Our inspection took place just five weeks after I stepped into post, and while the report reflects a moment in time, it has given us a valuable opportunity to accelerate improvement. The inspectors recognised several key strengths within our school, and we are proud of those. We also took their recommendations seriously. Since the visit, we’ve been working proactively to address each point, ensuring rapid and meaningful progress that benefits every child and reassures our families.”

Please see below our improvements so far and actions:

The inspectors talked, we listened...

"Ensure that all staff implement the school’s behaviour policy effectively so that pupils are routinely supported to behave well, in line with leaders’ intentions, across the school."

We are pleased to share that the first recommendation has been fully addressed through the introduction of a new Behaviour Management Policy. Pupils and staff worked together to shape the policy, ensuring it reflects the values and expectations of our school and places equal emphasis on recognition and consequences. Celebrating positive behaviour is at the heart of the policy, helping pupils feel motivated and proud of their choices. Behaviour management is discussed in staff meetings, where colleagues share good practice, leaders regularly monitor how the policy is being applied in classrooms and around the school, ensuring it is implemented fairly and consistently, and staff training means that every adult in school applies the same expectations, so pupils experience a unified approach wherever they are.

"Through systematic monitoring, check that all staff deliver learning that builds on the content previously taught, so that pupils extend their knowledge and skills logically, consistently and securely in all year groups."

We have acted on the second recommendation by putting in place a clear and consistent system to check that teaching always builds on what pupils have already learned. Through regular learning walks, planning reviews, and close scrutiny of pupils’ work, leaders monitor not only the coherence and progression of lessons across all year groups but also the consistency with which staff apply these approaches. This enables us to identify strengths and areas for refinement quickly, ensuring that guidance and support are timely and effective. As a result, pupils experience a curriculum that extends their knowledge and skills in a logical, consistent, and securely sequenced way. This reflects the principles of High Performance Learning, where every child benefits from teaching that is purposeful, reliable, and designed to help them become confident, independent learners.
