On Thursday 4th December, our school held its very first Life Skills Day, a dedicated off-curriculum event designed to equip pupils with valuable real-world knowledge. This term’s theme was First Aid, and every year group took part in hands-on, age-appropriate learning.

Throughout the day, the school was buzzing with activity.

  • Year 6 produced vibrant comics and eye-catching posters to raise awareness about how and when to call 999, demonstrating both creativity and a strong understanding of emergency procedures.

  • Year 3 brought first-aid learning to life through role-play scenarios, acting out different situations and discussing how to respond safely and calmly.

  • Other year groups took part in engaging Q&A sessions, developing their understanding of first-aid basics and asking thoughtful questions.

It was a fantastic day that gave pupils the opportunity to build confidence, practise essential skills, and learn how to help others in an emergency. Our first Life Skills Day was a great success, and we look forward to many more in the future.
