The whole school took part in the first Heathside International Culture Day today to celebrate the wonderful diversity of cultures at our school. With over 33 languages spoken in school, and almost half the children knowing two or more languages, we have a lot to celebrate.

With costumes, reading, assemblies and displays there were plenty of opportunities to learn about other cultures. Some of our Year 6, 7 and 8 students became teachers too and visited the younger classes to tell them about their culture.

Headteacher, Nadia Ward, said, “Our school is a wonderful representation of the international nature of London with families and staff from all over the world. We are so proud of the diversity of cultures at Heathside and believe that learning about other countries, languages and customs brings us all closer together.”
