Heathside School Hampstead is holding its first mental health and well-being festival, Heathside Connect, during the week of 6th June 2022.
Heathside Connect is a series of events for parents, children and staff from Heathside and the wider community. The week culminates in a well-being day on Saturday 11th June at Heathside School.
“The festival is an opportunity for Heathside School to showcase some of the wonderful work carried out in mental health and well-being and also to open our doors to our own parents, staff and families and those in neighbouring schools and the local community,” explains Headteacher Kate Vintiner.
“As we move out of the pandemic, the Heathside Community wants to reconnect to make an effort to create a ‘new normal’ which involves taking time to build and foster relationships. To spread positive mental health through connection – connection with ourselves, each other and the environment.”
Events will run through the week. On Thursday 9th June; locally based Clinical Pyschologist, Dr Tara Porter, will give a talk for parents on girl’s mental health and anxiety.
On Saturday 11th June, families, neighbours and friends are invited to come into school and take part in a variety of events, workshops and talks.
Speakers from children’s mental health charity Place2Be, The Safeguarding Alliance and national mental health text service SHOUT will give talks for parents while children can take part in mindfulness sessions and try new sports and activities.
